Suzie Byatt is an artist and jewellery designer/maker from London, UK. She is now living in Melbourne, Australia, pursuing a career in art education, alongside developing her own art practice. Having completed a Master of Teaching in Secondary Education at Monash University, Suzie is currently working as a Visual Arts teacher at a secondary school in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. She is passionate about working collaboratively with people of all ages, with experience teaching jewellery and visual art classes in London, Melbourne, and Mumbai. As a practitioner of yoga and an advocate for mindfulness within her personal life and experiences, Suzie strongly believes that wellbeing and mindfulness are integrated with visual art practices, and play a fundamental role in shaping a positive social and learning environment in educational contexts. In order to facilitate mindfulness practice at school and beyond, she has created an online resource designed for teachers and students, which includes informative videos, tips, and activities. Suzie has an interest in the combination of instructional design and digital technologies within the visual arts context, and is currently exploring ideas to enhance learning, collaboration, and engagement in the digital space.
