Hello! I’m Suzie – an illustrator and ceramic artist from London, now based in Melbourne, Australia. My creative journey began at the age of ten, making and selling beaded jewellery, which later led me to study jewellery design at university. After several years working as a jewellery designer and maker, I moved to Melbourne, where I’m now very grateful to live with my lovely husband, our beautiful son, and our energetic dog.
My work spans illustration and ceramics and is playful, heartfelt, and nostalgic, inspired by feminine energy, flowers, vintage fashion and lifestyle, slow living, and a touch of humour. Across my artworks, I pay particular attention to female legs, celebrating them as expressive, characterful forms. Working with both clay and illustration allows me to explore small, meaningful objects and images that feel personal and joyful.
I’m happiest with a drawing or clay tool in my hand, 1960s music or a true crime podcast in my ears, and a cup of coffee nearby. When I’m not making, I teach primary school visual art and work on my passion project, Type One Writers — a worldwide pen pal club for people living with Type 1 diabetes.
